KARACHI, Jan 21: The general body of Sindh Amateur Basketball Association (SABA) which met in the city on Monday has deferred its elections until Feb 12 following POA advice to hold them after SOA polls.
The SABA had approached the POA secretary to nominate observer in its elections as SOA has become defunct who, in a communication, asked them to carry out the same after SOA elects its office-bearers on Jan 22.
“In the light of the correspondence, the house unanimously decided to conduct the elections next month as 14-day notice was mandatory as per constitution,” Abdul Nasir, who was appointed convener till elections, said.
It was also decided to modify the existing constitution by adding women’s wing in lines with the parent body and POA.
A three-member committee was assigned the task to circulate the modified constitution to members after making necessary amendments.
Chaired by president SABA, the meeting was attended among others by secretaries of Karachi, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur and representatives of Thatta and Larkana.
