Khuhro warns against delay in polls

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Jan 21: The former leader of opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, has stressed the need for a UN-led probe into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

He warned that if the polls were postponed again, the crisis in the country would become graver.

Talking to media after condoling with the family of former MPA Pir Mohammad Saeed Jan Sirhandi in Tando Saindad, he said the former PPP chairperson had been murdered under a well-planned conspiracy.

He deplored that the country was confronted with various crises, including electricity, gas and flour. The sugar industry was also facing a difficult situation, he said, adding that only the PPP could pull the country out of its current difficulties.

He said people would vote for the PPP and guarantee its victory in the coming elections.

He opposed suggestions about forming a national government before polls claiming that it would not be in the interest of the country. However, he said, the PPP would form a national government after coming into power.
