Pakistan, China sign loan agreement


BEIJING, Jan 21: The Export-Import Bank of China (EIBC) has signed a loan agreement with Pakistan for the upgradation of the Karakoram highway. Under the agreement, China will provide a credit of $327 million for the project.

The qualitative upgradation of the Pakistan-China link road will enhance tourism and trade between the two neighbouring countries.

The project will be jointly executed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and Pakistan’s National Highway Authority (NHA).—APP
