ATTOCK, Jan 21: Subscribers have started to discontinue the use of the PTCL’s ‘Pakistan Package’ after receiving the inflated bills.
The PTCL had introduced the package enabling its customers to make nationwide calls to all the PTCL and U-fone numbers for Rs199 per month, excluding tax.
A subscriber Ayub Khan told Dawn that government telephone numbers were not included in the package, whereas, he said, he had to call mostly to official numbers.
A customer M.I. Malik, who also seemed unhappy about the bill, said he had tried the PTCL helpline to deactivate the Pakistan Package but failed as the service was continuously found busy.
Another subscriber complained that the package was imposed on the users and it was not optional for them, adding that the inflated bills were turning away the consumers from the package.
On the other hand, the PTCL officials said that the package drawn overwhelming response from the people. A PTCL official said that deactivation of the service could be achieved by contacting the company office.
