Rangers reject Indian media report

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Jan 21: Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) said on Monday that an Indian minister, who inadvertently took three to four steps towards Pakistani side during a visit along with Border Security Force and customs officials at Joint check post Wahga on Jan 18, was warned by the on-duty Rangers officer.

According to a press release, the rangers dismissed an Indian media report that minister Jaairam Ramesh had an unchecked stroll in Pakistani territory as incorrect.

“The minister immediately returned saying sorry.” The rangers’ release said.

It said the local BSF authorities had been advised to brief the visiting dignitaries of exact demarcation of zero line at the joint check post.
