Launching site of rockets fired at Kamra traced

By Yaqoob Malik

ATTOCK, Jan 19: The Attock police on Saturday traced the site from where four rockets were fired on Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra on Thursday last, it has been learnt.

Besides, a misfired rocket, some electronic devices and accessories were also recovered by the security personnel from a field near Shamsabad village.

When connected, DPO Attock Tariq Hanif Joyia said during the three-day search operation, the law enforcers found the misfired rocket near an agricultural field in Shamsabad, some five km from Kamra cantonment. He said a 12 volt battery, timers and other accessories which were presumably used in firing the rockets were also recovered from the spot. He said sand bags were used by the terrorists as a launching pad for the rockets on the Kamra cantonment.

The entire area has been cordoned off by the security personnel who have intensified search through sniffer dogs to trace the hideouts of miscreants, he added. He said efforts had also been intensified by a police investigation team in collaboration with the security personnel of PAC and intelligence agencies.

Meanwhile, the Saddar police have registered a terrorism case against the unknown persons for firing rockets on the PAC residential areas.
