KARACHI: Lab for DNA test soon, says minister


KARACHI, Jan 19: A laboratory with DNA test facility will be established and a working paper in this regard will soon be presented to the Sindh chief minister for approval.

This was stated by provincial (caretaker) Minister for Women Development and Population Welfare Nadira Panjwani while talking to an eight-member delegation of medico-legal officers (MLOs) led by police surgeon Dr Bashir A. Shaikh.

She pledged that MLOs in Sindh would be provided with all facilities enjoyed by their counterparts in Punjab.

Dr Shaikh apprised the minister of the problems being faced by MLOs. She said proper security to MLOs would be also be ensured. The delegation requested posting of more MLOs at the office of the police surgeon and the major government hospital.—APP
