JI’s concern

Published January 19, 2008

LAHORE, Jan 18: The Jamaat-i-Islami’s central Shoora meeting has expressed its concern at the consultation going on in the US for the “destruction of Pakistan” and held the Musharraf regime responsible for taking the country to this end.

Rejecting the US agenda, it vowed to resist every move and face each challenge for ensuring independence and sovereignty of the country. Quoting public opinion surveys that say that 80 per cent population wanted to get rid of President Musharraf, it said only a real representative government of the masses could steer the country out of the crisis.
