NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 18: An interesting situation has developed here as two officers are claiming to hold the charge of the office of the district coordination officer (DCO) of Naushahro Feroze.

Talking to Dawn, the District Coordination Officer Ashfaq Hussain Umrani, said that he had not never applied for leave and was astonished to know as to how leave was sanctioned to him and then cancelled.

He claimed that he was still holding the charge of DCO which had not been handed over to Nazar Mohammad Kalhoro, who claims himself to be the DCO and also holding the charge of the same office.

Ashfaq Hussain Umrani also showed the two notifications of S&GAD department dated January 16, mentioning cancellation of his leave and continuation of the charge of DCO Naushahro Feroze.

He said that another officer Nazar Mohammad Kalhoro, claiming himself as the DCO, was violating the orders of the chief secretary of Sindh.

When contacted, Nazar Mohammad Kalhoro, said that he was posted as DCO Naushahro Feroze while Ashfaq Umrani was on leave sanctioned by the competent authority. He admitted that according to the two above said notifications, his order had been cancelled but as the chief secretary of Sindh has directed him not to leave the charge, therefore, he was still officiating as DCO.

He said that he and Ashfaq Umrani have been advised to meet the chief secretary of Sindh where the matter would be settled.
