KARACHI, Jan 18: Six ships, carrying containers, cement, edible oil, wheat, crude oil and chemicals, berthed at the Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Fotco Oil Terminal, Engro Pak Terminal, respectively, on Thursday.

Four ships are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 70 per cent where seven ships, MV Dubai Express, Khalid Ibn Al Waleed, Shadwan Island, Raissa Ayu, City Of Dubrovnil, Pedoulas and M T Sinar Agra were occupying berths to load or offload containers, cement, edible oil, wheat, crude oil and chemicals, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

The total cargo volume of 64,273 million tons, comprising 57,491m tons imports and 6782 million tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo, carried in 1,085 containers (Tues), was handled during the last 24 hours.

Khalid Ibn Al Waleed and Sinar Agra sailed out on Thursday and three vessels Raissa Ayu, Dubai Express and Pedoulas are expected to sail today.

Three ships are expected to take berths at the Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively, on the same day.—APP
