MIRPURKHAS: 22nd last date for filing loss claims

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 17: The Mirpurkhas DCO has directed the revenue officers to visit the sites and assess the losses of public and private property which were destroyed or damaged in violence after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, so the people could be compensated.
DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah was presiding over a meeting to review the losses of private and government property.
According to a handout issued here on Thursday, the DCO said the government has fixed Jan 22 as the last date for submitting claims of damages and added that a copy of an FIR should be attached with the claim.
He directed the officers to submit the claim forms of damages to the government properties, while claim forms of police would be collected through DPO.
The DCO asked the district officer revenue Mustafa Jamal Qazi to start survey by visiting damaged properties, so that claim forms could be sent after verification to the government for payment of compensation.
The meeting reviewed claim forms which were received form six talukas of the district.The meeting was attended by DPO Ali Ahmed Junejo, Major Tauheed of 60 wing Pakistan Rangers, EDO revenue, district officer revenue Mustafa Jamal Qazi, SP investigation and Mukhtiarkars.
