Freezing essentials’ prices


KARACHI, Jan 17: Consumer Association of Pakistan chairman Kaukab Iqbal has urged the government to freeze the prices of essential commodities to control price hike.

He also called for stern action against the flour mill owners who were indulged in profiteering and asked the government to ensure early shops closure, said a press release.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that flour millers were reported to have earned

Rs810 million during wheat flour crisis and demanded the government to direct the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for recovering this illegal profit.
