PCB Governing Board’s sub-committee meets today

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, Jan 16: The first meeting of the sub-committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Governing Board will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium today (Thursday).

PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf will also be attending the meeting to provide his vision on domestic cricket. The committee is expected to review the entire domestic season in order to make recommendations for any alternations that would then be given final approval by the Governing Board.

The meeting is being held after the PCB’s announcing of its first domestic tournament for 2008 —the inter-district (Under-19) tournament, starting across the country from Jan 23.

It is also the first meeting of any of the Governing Board’s sub committee, which was formed in October but had so far been ignored by the PCB in taking big decisions. The committee, chaired by Aslam Sanjarani, has the former Test captain Intikhab Alam and Shakil Sheikh as its members. Director Cricket Operations (DCO) Zakir Khan will be attending as the ex-officio member.
