Shelling leaves 3 dead

WANA, Jan 15: Three workers were killed and two others injured when a mortar shell hit a timber yard in Moli Khan Sarai area of South Waziristan on Tuesday evening.

Sources said that security forces fired artillery from Jandola and Manzai forts on suspected positions of militants in the Mahsud area. One of theshells landed in the timber yard in Moli Khan Sarai, some 60 kilometres east of Wana, at about 6pm.

The deceased had been identified as Ramzan, Hanif and Niaz Mohammad.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Tank.
