Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 15: Three ships, MV Nedlloyed Europa, Maersk Virginia and New Toyokaze, carrying containers and edible oil, berthed at the Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal, respectively, on Monday.

Three more ships, carrying cement, edible oil and diesel, also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim the during same period.

Berth occupancy was managed 80pc at the port where eight ships, MV Nedlloyed Europa, Maersk Virginia, MV Bolan, MV Leopard-B, New Toyokaze, Aviona, Vema Ocean and Kaghan, were engaged at berths to load and offload containers, rice, cement, edible oil, wheat, furnace oil and iron ore, respectively, during the period.

Moreover, a cargo volume of 86018 tons, comprising 75,563 tons of imports and ten, 455 tons of exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1399 (tues) was handled at the port.

M V Bolan and Vema Ocean sailed out to sea and MV Kaghan, Leopard, New Toyokaze and Maersk Virginia are expected to sail out today.

Another three ships, MSC Lucia, Venus-7 and Elegant Victoria, are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal and FOTCO Terminal, respectively.—APP
