Over 300 people reach Parachinar

By Our Correspondent

PARACINAR, Jan 13: Over 300 people escorted by a convoy of security forces from Peshawar reached back to their home town of Parachinar on Sunday.

They were left stranded in the provincial capital after clashes broke out between rival groups in the town and the main highway was blocked for private transport.

People, particularly students and businessmen, are the worst-hit since violent clashes took place and curfew was clamped in the town.

Meanwhile, a member of peace jirga from Hangu held separate meetings with representatives of rival groups to make headway regarding signing of the ceasefire agreement and pave the way for peace in the troubled agency.

The member of the jirga hoped that both factions would reach an early understanding.
