JACOBABAD, Jan 13: The District Police Officer (DPO) held an open kutchery here on Sunday at the police headquarters to review the law and order situation during Muharram in the district.

Umer Shaikh, the newly-appointed DPO, who replaced Munir Khuhro, exchanged views with the notables of the city.

The DPO said that Rangers and police would keep on patrolling during the month to maintain law and order.

He further said a 10-member committee would be constituted to recover the looted and stolen goods of the citizens which took place during violence in the aftermath of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in Rawalpindi.
