PESHAWAR, Jan 11: A high level meeting held here on Friday reviewed the law and order situation in the NWFP, particularly the southern districts and Swat.

The meeting was presided over by NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and attended by Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor, Inspector General of Police Mohammad Sharif Virk, Home Secretary Badshah Gul Wazir and the secretary to governor, Azmat Hanif.

An overview of the situation in the province was explained to the governor by the chief secretary and the other participants of the meeting. The measures taken for improving the government’s writ in the province were discussed in detail.

The governor appreciated the efforts of law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order. He stressed the need for people’s mobilisation against anti-state elements.
