KARACHI, Jan 11: Five shops were gutted in a fire that erupted in the Light House locality on M.A. Jinnah Road early on Friday, officials said.

Fire-tenders from five fire stations, including North Nazimabad and Lyari, were rushed to the scene.

Police and Rangers, along with KESC staff, were also present there.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained but reports suggested that the fire started from Subhanallah Bakery’s furnace and engulfed the adjoining shops.

An estimate of losses was not available immediately, said Fire Brigade officials.—PPI
