KARACHI, Jan 11: Four vessels carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where nine ships, Oel Trust, Kota Gunawan, Marc Threeium and Calvin P. Titus to unload and load containers, Raussa Ayu, Merlin Explorer, tankers, Wales to load cement, Danica Red to offload and load general cargo and Merry Fisher to load rice were berthed.

Sailing was also active eight ships, Hyundai Stride, Soon Fu, Global Prince, Kota Mesra, Ninth Ocean, Sea Princess, Gulf Grace and Gemini departed on Friday, while Orient Stride, Danica Red, Oel Trust, Calvin P. Titus, Raissa Ayu, Spica, Madonna-11 and Kota Gunnawan are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 111,000 tons comprising 29,500 tons of export tonnage and 81,783 tons of import cargo was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Oel Shreyas, Kapitan Byankin, Bunga Kenari and Conti Germany with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 11: Three ships carrying chemicals and diesel oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, eight more ships carrying containers, crude oil, furnace oil, edible Oil, wheat and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Six ships, Bolan, Zabrjed, Leopard-B, Yanaseni, Qemstar and Al-Salam were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, cement, chemicals and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 61,878 tons comprising 56,299 tons of import and 5,579 tons of export tonnage was handled.
