Two banks announce profit rates


KARACHI, Jan 11: The Soneri Bank has declared the rates of profit on PLS deposits for the half year between July-December, 2007.

PLS Savings Account: 4.50 per cent per annum; PLS Soneri Savings Accounts: up to Rs 25,000 (1pc), over Rs 25,000 and up to Rs 1 million (4pc), over Rs1 million, but up to Rs10 million (5pc), over Rs10 million (6pc).

Notice deposits: 7 days (4pc), 30 days (4.50pc); Term deposits: one month (4.50pc), three months (5pc), six months (5.50pc), one year (6pc), two years (6.25pc), three years (6.50pc), four years (6.75pc), five years (7pc).

Certificates of deposits: Sarmaya certificates one year (6pc), two years (6.50pc) three years (7pc), four years (8pc), five years (9.50pc), six years (11.50pc).

Soneri Savings certificates: three year term (10pc), golden deposit certificates five years (10.25).

MYBANK: The Mybank has announced the profit rates of various PLS deposit accounts declared for six months period ended Dec 31, 2007.

SL Savings accounts: up to Rs 5,000 (2pc pa), Rs5001 to 50,000 (4pc), Rs50,001 to Rs 100,000 (4.50c), Rs100,001 and above (5pc).

Business Premium Accounts: Rs1,000,001 to Rs10,000,000 (4.50pc), Rs10,000.001 to Rs 50,000,000 (5pc), Rs50,000,001 to Rs100,000,000 and above (5.50 pc).

Special notice deposit accounts: seven to 29 days (5pc), 30 days and over (6pc), Term deposit regular profit payable at maturity: One month (6pc), three months (7pc), six months (8pc), one year (10.50pc), two years (10.75pc) three years (11.25pc).

Special deposit accounts: One year (10.35pc), two years (10.60pc), three years (11pc)

Fixed term deposit scheme with profit payable monthly: one year (10.25pc), two years (10.50pc) and three years (10.75pc), says a press release.
