Flour seized from trucks bound for Peshawar

LAHORE, Jan 9: The City District Government of Lahore on Wednesday seized 54 flour bags from two Peshawer-bound trucks in Akbari Mandi and Circular Road.

It also decided to increase the number of special sale points in the city from 52 to 100 from Thursday (today).

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mian Ijaz was informed that truck owners had been challaned and flour confiscated that was later sent to Darul Amaan.

The DCO learnt that 60,000 flour bags weighing 20kg each had been supplied to the open market, 7,100 to towns, 15,000 to union councils and 19,000 to 52 special sale points on Wednesday.

CHICKEN: The District Officer Livestock arrested five chicken sellers for weighing meat with beak and sent them to jail.
