KARACHI: Administrative reshuffle

KARACHI: In a major reshuffle, the provincial government ordered transfers and postings of some bureaucrats on Wednesday following the transfer of home secretary to the services and general administration department.

The transfers and postings include the appointment of Fazl-ur-Rehman as chairman anti-corruption establishment after his transfer from the office of local government secretary. The post of anti-corruption establishment chairman was lying vacant after the transfer of Asad Asharf Malik, who was appointed as provincial ombudsman.

Deputy Secretary Agriculture Shazia Rizvi has been transferred and posted as additional secretary in local government department.

Aftab Memon, who was awaiting posting after his return from a training course in Islamabad, has been posted as secretary local government. The special secretary to the chief minister, Muhammad Hussain Syed, has been transferred and posted as secretary cooperative department.

EDO Education Naela Wajid has been transferred and posted as vice-commissioner of Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution in lieu of Akhtar Ghauri who was asked to report to the services and general administration department.

Meanwhile, Brig Mohtaram is likely to hand over the charge of home secretary to his successor Arif Ahmad Khan on Thursday. In this connection, the department has arranged a luncheon to give farewell to the outgoing home secretary and welcome his successor.
