KARACHI, Jan 9: Funds for the construction of a passport office in Malir have been approved and the work on the project will start within a month.

This was stated by a spokesman for the Passport and Immigration department here on Wednesday while Project Director Junaid Mushtaq Qureshi, accompanied by a team of the department, inspected the site selected for the branch at the Malir Town office.

Deputy Director Passport and Immigration Manzoor Ahmed Malik, acting town nazim and other officials were present on the occasion.

Opening of the branch will provide great relief to the residents of Malir, Landhi, Shah Faisal, Korangi, Bin Qasim and Gadap towns in getting their problems regarding passport and immigration matters resolved.

The spokesman said that the project had hit a delay of six months because of the execution of a similar project in Khairpur.—PPI
