LAHORE, Jan 8: Blue-roan horse Home Star, who was beaten in his last outing, should make amends and win the feature event during the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Sunday.

The Kharian Plate, a class five, division two handicap race to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1,200 metres will be the sixth and last race of the day.

Of the 18 acceptors barring the last-minute withdrawals, four come into reckoning on their recent performances in the races. They are: Home Star, Toyota, Tallal The Great and Royal Victory. Since Toyota and Royal Victory will be back on the course after a long lay off, Home Star and Tallal The Great should fight it out with the first named getting advantage.

In the supporting and third race, the Sangla Hill Plate class V division I handicap race to be contested over 1,000 metres has a dozen runners. Of them three attract attention, Sabbat Qadam and Murad King by their current form and Faryal by her old form. They should fight for the spoils.

Armida, Sweet Lady, Creek Cat and High Quality are the form animals in the 14-strong field in the second race. Creek Cat is a good pedigree animal but maiden yet. On her last showing Sweet Lady ran a good second over 1,100 metres. She should have the better of her rivals this time and win. Her main challenger should be Armida. This will be the second race in the racing order.

Dark-bay horse, Have No Fear, who was beaten by Great Rhythm in his previous run, should do well this time with better support from the saddle. Bird Fly and Company should be his main challenger among 11 starters, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.

The fifth race has a big field of 18- runners. Of them Mahima and Raksh-e-Raqeeban are the form ones to fight for picking up the spoils. Miss Mano and Sohna Murad may fight for the frame.

The opener has 14 runners. Mera Bhakkar, Shahbaz Love and Kashif Da Gulshan are the pick of the field to finish in the same order.

A card of six races comprising in all, 87 acceptors will be decided. The first five events will be contested over 1,000 metres while the sixth and last race will be gone over 1,200 metres. The first race will be held at 12:30pm.
