Navy thrash KPT

LAHORE, Jan 7: Four more matches were decided in the fourth Pakistan Premier League (PPL) football at Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Monday.

Pakistan Navy won 4-0 against Karachi Port Trust (KPT) at their own complex in Islamabad.

Winger Farhan Abdul Qadir opened the account in the 5th minute. Midfielder Muhammad Shahzad made it 2-0 in the 19th minute and six minutes later spearhead and two-goal Sajjad Ahmed consolidated the lead 3-0. Sajjad scored his second goal in the dying minutes of the match to complete the tally.

PIA registered their eighth win, beating PTV 1-0 with the solitary goal came through winger Nazeer Ahmed in the 87th minute.

League-topper Army gained three precious points when they edged out KESC 1-0.

Their midfielder Shabbir struck the winner in the 74th minute.

A 71st minute solitary goal through Mohammad Essa helped KRL beat HBL 1-0 at own stadium in Rawalpindi.

There will be no match on Tuesday. The event will resume on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s fixtures:

Railways v HBL (Railways Stadium); Army v Afghan FC (Army Stadium); Punjab Medical College v KESC (PMC Ground, Faisalabad); Wohaib v KPT (University Ground, Lahore); Wapda v NBP ( Railway Stadium).
