RAWALPINDI, Jan 6: A 21-year-old woman committed suicide in Kahuta, while two persons were injured after being hit by bullets in a wedding ceremony in Gangmandi area, police said on Sunday.

Police said Sonia Iltija was found hanging when her husband Zaigham Mehmood opened the door of her room in Kahuta.

Police said investigation was underway to ascertain the motive behind the suicide.

In the second incident, Amir Mehmood and Waqar Ahmed were attending the wedding ceremony of Rashid Mehmood in the Ganjmandi area, when they were hit by bullets accidentally fired by some of the participants.

Meanwhile, three persons snatched a wagon and cash from its driver in Westridge on Sunday.

Fazal Mehmood complained to the police that he was going home in his wagon (RL-7286), when three unidentified persons riding a vehicle intercepted him and snatched the wagon and Rs3,000 on gunpoint and escaped.—Staff Reporter
