By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Jan 6: Armed bandits deprived noted eye surgeon Professor Shafi Mohammad Jatoi of a gold medal during a house robbery in Qasimabad on Saturday.

According to an FIR lodged with the Qasimabad police, five unidentified armed bandits barged into the house of Professor Jatoi, held the inmates hostages at gunpoint and looted the gold medal, Rs15,000 cash and some mobile phones.

WOMAN BURNT: A woman, who had suffered massive burn injuries in her house in Qasimabad on Saturday, was shifted to Karachi on Sunday in view of her critical condition.

Parvarish, 17, who has suffered around 65 per cent burn wounds, has lodged an FIR with the Qasimabad police who recorded her statement in the Civil Hospital.

She accused her husband Farhan Bhatti, his mother Rehana and sister Reema of trying to burn her alive but said that her brother-in-law Noman tried to save her.
