Shifa College evacuated after bomb hoax

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Jan 4: A bomb hoax on Friday forced evacuation of more than 200 students and teachers from Shifa College of Medicine H-8, official sources said.

A senior police official said an unidentified person had made a telephone call on main exchange lines at 9.35 am and informed the administration that a bomb had been planted in the building and it would go off within next ten minutes.

He said shortly after the call was received, the students and staff were evacuated. Later, the police and bomb disposal experts carried out search for the explosive for about one hour, but found no explosive and declared the call as hoax.
