HYDERABAD, Jan 4: The University of Sindh has asked the applicants who appeared in admission test to bachelors and masters programme-2008, but were not selected, to deposit their admission fee for admissions in various disciplines.

The university said that these candidates can get admissions to General History, Geography, Philosophy, Islamic History and Urdu in bachelors’ degree programme while in masters’ degree programme, the interested candidates can deposit admission fee for admissions to Botany, Environmental Sciences, Freshwater biology and fisheries, Geography, Islamic Culture, Mathematics, Physiology, Political Science, General History, Islamic History, Psychology, Sindhi and Social Work.

The university management also announced that under Self Finance System (SFS) a few seats are vacant in bachelors’ degree programme in Botany, Freshwater Biology and Fisheries, Genetics, International Relations, Mass Communication, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology, Anthropology and Archaeology and Rural Development Studies and for admissions under master’s degree programme Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Botany, Chemistry, M.Sc Computer Science, M.C.S Computer Science, Economics, Freshwater Biology, International Relations, Library Science, Mass Communication, Mathematics, Physics Sociology and Zoology disciplines.

The university advised the interested candidates to deposit prescribed admissions fee through bank challan.

The last date for payment of for admissions under merit as well as on SFS has been fixed as January 15.

MUET CLASSES: The Registrar of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro announced on Friday hat the classes of new batch 2007-2008 would commence from January 7.

He advised the students to attend their classes as they would not be allowed to appear in the examinations if they fail to fulfil 75 per cent attendance.

Meanwhile, the Provosts of the Hostels of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, Prof Dr. Mujeeb-ud-Din Sahrai, on Friday informed that hostel allotment forms for the new session 2007-2008 (0208-Batch)boys and girls students would be issued from January 28.

The last date for the submitting form has been fixed as February 11, he said and advised the interested students to contact his office for further information during office hours.
