KARACHI: Power cuts

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 4: The violence-battered Karachiites are appalled by the prolonged and unannounced power breakdowns persisting since Thursday. The KESC has blamed the disruption on under frequency in Wapda’s national grid.

The KESC’s Bin Qasim power plant was facing problems due to the outage of its unit three for repairs. It was expected to be revived late on Friday night or on Saturday.

A KESC spokesman said that due to a shortage on the national grid, Wapda had curtailed its supply to the utility to about 300 MW.
