MQM establishes complaint centres

KARACHI, Jan 2: The MQM Coordination Committee has established a complaint centre at its headquarters Nine Zero to collect details of arson, loot, violence and plunder that followed the assassination of PPP chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

“Complaint centers have also been established in different MQM zones throughout interior Sindh,” said an MQM statement issued on Wednesday.

It said that following the assassination of Ms Bhutto, anti-social elements attacked homes and businesses of MQM workers, supporters and common citizens and set ablaze their properties. Hundreds of banks, factories and petrol stations were also torched.

“The details collected from traders, mill and factory owners, shopkeepers and common citizens from all over Sindh will later be presented to the government for payment of compensation to the victims,” added the statement.

“The MQM Coordination Committee has appealed to the citizens affected by loot, plunder and arson to contact the MQM complaint centers in their cities and submit details of their losses,” it said, asking the affected people to contact on phone numbers 6807634 and 6807632, or fax the details to 6807630.
