NAWABSHAH, Jan 2: The district nazim of Nawabshah, Faryal Talpur, has demanded of caretaker chief minister Sindh to ensure impartial working of law enforcing agencies.

In a letter addressed to caretaker chief minister, she said that the series of events taking place in the country, particularly in Sindh, has resulted into a deteriorated law and order situation.

She stressed that the law enforcing agencies, including police, Rangers and army be strictly ordered to apply the force rationally to bring the situation to normalcy and to avoid further worsening it to a deplorable condition in the district.

Quoting section 18 (1)(c) of SLGO-2001 which empowered her, being the head of district government, she requested the chief minister to ensure impartial working of law enforcing agencies and order them to restrain from detention of innocent citizens, registration of fake cases on the instigation of political factions and avoid political victimisation.

She further urged the CM to direct the LEAs to avoid searching the houses without any legal authority, perceive the gravity of situation so miscreant may not serve their interests by leading the crisis towards linguistic and ethnic riots.

She demanded an inquiry against police officers who failed to protect the life and property of general public during violent incidents.

She further said that it was the high time to pool all resources to safeguard the national interests, integrity and advised that situation requires to be handled wisely, shrewdly and smoothly.

BOOKED: Nawabshah Police booked more than 3000 persons for damaging government and private properties here on Wednesday.

Feroze Leghari, president Sindh People’s Students Federation Nawabshah, Noor Nawaz Zardari, secretary PPP taluka Nawabshah and other PPP activists were nominated under sections 7 ATA, 137 H-2, 147, 148, 435 PPC at A-section police station.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, president of PPP Nawabshah taluka has condemned the registration of FIRs against PPP activists and termed it political victimisation.
