KOHAT: Mysterious attackers kill six in Kohat

KOHAT, Jan 2: A young man died in a hospital here, raising to six the number of people killed by unknown assailants over the past 24 hours in the Kohat district, municipal officials said on Wednesday.

The man was brought by some passengers who said they had picked him up lying by the road near Banda Daud Shah in Karak district.

Hospital sources said that the man had severe chest injuries and broken bones in his hands and legs. Municipal authorities have refused to bury the deceased on doctors’ request and called for a thorough police probe.

The body of a girl named Hina was found in a canal in Dhodha. She was shot in the chest. Another woman’s body was recovered from a house in Muslimabad who had allegedly shot herself with a pistol.

Police are still unable to identify the killers of a man and his son, who were shot dead in the Merozai area in the limits of Saddar police station at their doorsteps.

A boy was shot and killed while working in a shop in Chakarkot in the city. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Amin. He was a resident of Sherkot. Police suspected Taliban to be behind his murder.—Correspondent
