Four housing schemes put on notice

By Syed Irfan Raza

ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: The Capital Development Authority on Tuesday served notices on four housing societies in Sector E-11 for occupying 300 kanals of private land and asked them to vacate the property or face cancellation of their no-objection certificates (NOCs), sources told Dawn.

It is believed that the managements of the housing schemes would face stern action because they have sold plots carved out of the illegally occupied land. The CDA said it would demarcate the land owned by the housing societies afresh, and would take over the illegally possessed land one month after the issuance of the notice.

The private/cooperative housing societies put on notice are: National Police Foundation (NPF) Housing Scheme, Pakistan Medical Cooperative Housing Society (PMCHS), Federation of Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FECHS) and Services Cooperative Housing Society (SCHS).

The sources said a senior official of the interior ministry had asked the CDA not to serve notice on the NPF. However, the CDA chairman Kamran Lashari decided to go ahead and take action against all the four housing societies.
