A press release of MQM issued on Monday said that Mr Hussain described the death of Ms Bhutto a national loss.

He said that he and every worker of the MQM had been saddened by this incident.

Mr Hussain asked Mr Zardari to convey his condolences to Bilawal, Bakhtawar and Aseefa and other members of the family.

He said that in the past through conspiracies “we were pitted against each other but now we understand this”.

He said time had come to recognise such elements and work jointly for betterment of the Sindh province and the country.
