KARACHI, Dec 31: The degree examinations of the Karachi University will resume on January 11 and the semester examinations of the KU evening programme on Jan 5.

In a press release issued on Monday, KU registrar announced that the degree examinations would be held as per the schedule while the dates for the postponed papers would be announced later.

Director of the KU Evening Programme Prof Abuzar Wajidi said in a separate announcement that the exams for the evening programme would resume on Jan 5. He advised students to contact their respective departments for a date sheet.

Inter exams

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi BIEK) has announced that the exams scheduled for Jan 1 and 2 have been postponed but the remaining papers will be held according to the schedule.

Urdu varsity exams

According to an announcement made by the Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), all semester exams have been postponed till Jan 10. The exams will resume as per the schedule on Jan 11. The sates for the postponed papers will be announced by the respective departments.

It said that the dates for the papers scheduled to be held from Dec 29 to Jan 5 would be announced later while the BSc (Hons.) first and second year exams had been put off till Jan 6. However, papers to be held from Jan 11 onwards would be held according to the schedule.

The BSc (Hons.) third year and MSc first year exams will be held according to schedule from Jan 17 and the dates for MSc final year papers will be announced on Jan 11.

Condolence meeting

A condolence meeting was held at the University of Karachi on Monday for the former prime minister, Ms Benazir Bhutto. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui. The participants offered fateha for the departed souls of Ms Benazir Bhutto and all those who were killed in the Liaquat Bagh tragedy.

Educational institutions reopen on 10th

The government and private schools and colleges in the province will reopen on January 10 after winter vacations.

This was stated by Sindh Education Minister Shujaat Ali Baig here on Monday.
