PCB to decide schedule today : Quaid-i-Azam Trophy

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 30: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will decide the rescheduled programme of the remaining matches of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship on Monday.

The last round matches of the event were deferred for an indefinite period on Friday in the wake of the tragic death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

“The PCB will be discussing the revised programme of the event when the offices open on Monday,” Zakir Khan, PCB Director Cricket Operations (DCO) said on Sunday.

All nine matches of the final round were affected due to the terrible incident. He said the dates of the final of the event, which earlier was to be held from Jan 1, would also be reviewed.

Moreover, Zakir said there was no message received from Zimbabwe indicating their reluctance from touring Pakistan from Jan 12.

“However, we will also discuss the tour of Zimbabwe to Pakistan and consider every aspect of the tour in detail,” he said.

Zakir said that Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson was on leave and he would return after completing his Christmas and New Year leave in Australia.
