Shujaat slams Zardari

Published December 31, 2007

LAHORE, Dec 30: President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q Ch Shujaat Hussain has said the press conference of Asif Zardari was contrary to the nation’s expectations.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that in his view Asif Zardari should have learnt the lesson from the past but by calling the Pakistan Muslim League as ‘Qatil’ had in fact had dishonoured the founder of the nation and expressed his negative thinking.

He said before levelling baseless allegations, Mr Zardari should have remembered the past of his own party as murdering and killing opposition politicians was PPP’s hallmark.

He said that in 1973 dozens of people were killed by the Bhutto government during the public meeting of Khan Abdul Wali Khan at Liaquat Bagh and when dozens of bodies reached Peshawar not a single car was burnt, no shop was looted and Wali Khan asked the people of NWFP to stay calm and maintain peace.—Staff Reporter
