PML-N rally attack case registered

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Dec 29: The city police have registered a case of attempt to murder, anti-terrorist act and violation of section 144 against scores of unidentified persons involved in attacking a Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) rally here on Thursday.

The case was registered on the complaint of Omer Nawaz, an injured, who stated that he along with party workers and activists gathered at Kural Chowk to welcome PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.

“A group of 10-12 persons armed with weapons came out of Khokhar House and attacked some participants of the PML-N rally when they were hanging banners at the spot. As a result, some of them suffered injuries, which led to an exchange of harsh words.

“In the meantime, about 30-40 people armed with weapons also came out of the house. They opened fire on the PML-N workers, which resulted in the death of five persons and injuries to three others.”

The Kural police have registered the case but no arrest has been made.
