PPP-S seeks impartial inquiry

Published December 30, 2007

PESHAWAR, Dec 29: The Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao demanded on Saturday an “independent and impartial inquiry” into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto so that the real killers could be brought to justice.

A PPP-S meeting, presided over by its chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, condemned Ms Bhutto’s murder and expressed concern over the increasing incidents of terrorism.

It would be impossible to hold general elections if the law and order situation did not improve, the meeting observed.

Addressing the meeting, Mr Sherpao said: “If the PPP Parliamentarians decided to boycott elections, the PPP-S would follow suit as polls minus the PPPP will have no credibility”.
