MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 28: AJK Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir has condemned the assassination of Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

In a statement, he said it was a great loss to the nation as she had contributed greatly to strengthening democracy and played her role in the country’s politics. “Her invaluable services for the cause of democracy will always be remembered.”

He said that anti-state elements were trying to sabotage the country’s political system by hatching conspiracies against political figures.

He also condemned the firing incident at Koral Chowk on Thursday that claimed three lives.—APP
