PESHAWAR: Minister condemns slaying

PESHAWAR, Dec 28: Provin-cial Caretaker Minister for Population Welfare Seeme Riaz has strongly condemned the brutal assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and termed it a great loss for the nation.

The minister in a condolence message expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and termed the PPP chief’s death ‘a killing of democracy’ in the country.

She said that some ‘disgruntled elements’ had been intentionally targeting the national leadership to create terror and spread lawlessness.

The minister appealed to the public to remain calm and refrain from damaging public and private properties.

She prayed for the departed souls and people injured in the Liaquat Bagh attack.—APP
