HYDERABAD: Loadshedding

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Dec 28: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) has announced load management programme in view of acute power generation shortage in the country. The step is expected to cover about 200 to 400 megawatt shortage.

Chief Engineer Technical Habibullah Khilji in a statement on Thursday said that power shortage had made it necessary for Hesco to suspend supply from 56 feeders of 119 grid stations for an hour daily.

He said load management programme will come into effect from December 31. He, however, said there will be no suspension of electricity from those feeders which supply power to utilities.

Mr Khilji has appealed to people to use electricity to the minimum level and install energy saver in place of bulbs and tube-lights.

He said in this way the consumers will not only be saving electricity but also charges. He also appealed to business community to close their shops as soon as possible to ensure power supply to consumers.

He asked the industrialists to schedule their weekly holidays on different days and urged the elected nazims, political and social welfare organizations to cooperate with Hesco in this regard.
