Soomro, Rehmani retain STA posts

KARACHI, Dec 27: The general body of the Sindh Tennis Association (STA) which met in the city on Thursday elected a 26-member body for a four-year term.

According to the results, caretaker Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro and Khalid Rehmani were re-elected as president and secretary, respectively.

In addition, the list includes three senior vice-presidents, six vice-presidents, treasurer, four joint secretaries and 10-member executive committee.

Saeed Ahmed read out the message of the president elect which he has sent giving his blessing to head the body for another term.

Fakir Ayazuddin, Shahid Hussain and Jamal Mirza represented the Sindh Olympic Association, the Sindh Sports Board and the Pakistan Tennis Federation.

Earlier, the secretary presented his report and outlined salient features for the future.

Office-bearers:

President: Mohammadmian Soomro.

Senior vice-presidents: Khwaja Saeed Hai, Saeed Ahmed and Zulfiqar Yousufzai.

Vice-presidents: Waseem Ahmed, Abdul Fateh Bughio, Shahida Farooq, Masroor Baig, Ali Raza Shah and Altaf Hussain.

Secretary: Khalid Rehmani.

Treasurer: N.R. Siddiqui.

Joint secretaries: Shabbir Gul, Tofik Lodhi, Muzaffar Charjo and Seher Khawaja.

Executive committee: Safina Hameed, Rafi Darbari, Dr. Iqbal, Ahmed Mehmood Farooqi, Muzaffar Mughal, Syed Mir Mohammad Shah, Prof Ali Raza, Sarwar Hussain, Ayesha Iram, Pervez Ahmed Shaikh.
