Six shot dead in Larkana


LARKANA, Dec 26: Six people of Gaad and Chandio tribes were killed and a man of Chandio clan was seriously injured in two different incidents in village Aakil in Larkana city on Wednesday.

According to police, a group of people belonging to Chandio clan and others were sitting in a hotel near Naudero Chowk in Larkana city to take tea, when they were attacked by armed men of Gaad clan who started indiscriminate firing on them.

Himmath Chandio was killed on the spot while another Gulbhar Chandio received serious bullet injuries. The assailants escaped from the scene, police added.

The incident took place in the limits of Haidry police station.

As the news of the killing reached village Aakil, armed men of Chandio clan attacked the Gaad clan at various places of the village in the jurisdiction of Aakil police station and killed five men, Nasim Gaad, Abdul Ghafoor Gaad, Mohammad Issa Gaad, Sudhir Gaad and Mohammad Safar Bhayo.

Mahotta police station, Aakil police station and Haidery police station of Larkana district have registered cases and launched investigations.—APP
