TCP floats Tender for sugar purchase

KARACHI, Dec 25: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has floated a tender for the purchase of 50,000 metric tons of refined sugar from local mills.

A TCP official said here on Tuesday that the tender would be opened on Jan 1.

The corporation is buying sugar from local mills on the instructions of ECC for the procurement of 500,000 tons of sugar from local mills.

He said that TCP had earlier floated several tenders for the purchase of sugar of about 200,000 MT from local mills in phases.

He said that the TCP has also maintained sufficient stocks of sugar in case of shortage and also to supply sugar to Utility Stores Corporation.

Meanwhile, the TCP has floated a tender for the sale of 25,000 metric ton of imported refined sugar lying at its godowns. A TCP official said that the tender would be opened on Jan 2. —APP
