LAHORE, Dec 23: Two robbers shot dead a 55-year-old woman on resistance in the Mozang police precinct on Sunday morning.

Shan Ali told police that he along with his mother Azra Bibi had to travel to Islamabad. He said he was waiting in the car while his mother was coming towards the vehicle after locking the doors of the house at 7am when two motorcyclists appeared there. They held his mother hostage at pistol point and tried to snatch her bag containing cash and ornaments. He said the culprits injured his mother with a gunshot fire when she tried to resist and raise an alarm. She was rushed to Fatima Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The robbers escaped with the handbag. Police shifted the body for autopsy.
