HARIPUR, Dec 23: Hundreds of villagers from the Kholian union council held a protest procession on Sunday and said they would not allow any politician participating in the elections to enter their area.
Led by Barrister Jehangir, a social worker, villagers gathered on the Grand Trunk Road and staged a sit-in to protest against the former legislators who, they said, had done nothing to solve local problems.
They said that none of the previously elected members of parliament had bothered to address their problems. They said that people in the village were facing numerous problems like lack of tap water, roads and sewage system.—Correspondent
