CD, grocery shops blown up

NOWSHERA, Dec 23: A CD shop was blown up in the Irfan Market in the Lower Azakhel area on Sunday night.

Police said the blast was of low intensity and it caused no casualties or damage to adjacent shops.

In another incident, a blast damaged a grocery shop in the Jahangira area. The store was owned by one Rehmanul Haq.

A watchman of the bazaar told police that two masked men put a pressure cooker packed with some explosives near the gate of the shop and fled.

As the watchman went near the shop, he noticed smoke billowing out of the cooker.

When he tried to extinguish it by dropping sand on it, the cooker exploded with a big bang. Luckily, the watchman escaped unhurt.

MURDER: Bilal, son Farooq Shah, was shot dead while his friend escaped unhurt when they were fired upon allegedly by their rivals Abid and Sabir.Police have lodged registered a case and are investigating.
